LED Emblem Installation Guide
Non-LED emblems install exactly like your factory emblem, with no wiring. This guide is for our white LED and RGB color-changing emblems, which need a 12V power connection.
We recommend having a professional installer or auto electrician do the wiring. Incorrect wiring can damage the LED and isn't covered by our warranty.
Step 1: Mount the emblem
Remove your factory emblem and mount the BadgeWorks emblem in the same location using the factory clips, pins or speed nuts, exactly as the original came off. Route the LED lead through the grille toward the battery or fuse area, away from moving parts and hot engine surfaces.
Step 2: Choose how it turns on
- With your running lights or parking lights. The emblem lights whenever your lights are on. This is the most common setup.
- On a toggle switch. You control it from inside the cab. Wire through an inline fuse and a switched 12V source.
Step 3: Connect power
Connect the positive lead to your chosen 12V source through an inline fuse, and the negative lead to a clean chassis ground. Use proper connectors and heat-shrink; tape alone won't hold up under the hood.
Step 4: Test before you finish
Turn on the lights (or the switch) and confirm the emblem lights evenly before securing the wiring with zip ties.
Check your local laws
Some states and countries restrict colored or illuminated lighting on the front of a vehicle, particularly red, blue and flashing light. Check your local regulations before using lighted or RGB emblems on public roads.
